About Us
Brentwood Animal Hospital, located in the Brentwood area of Raleigh, is well-established and has been providing professional veterinarian services to the local community. Originally, it was started by Dr. David Gray and later continued by Dr. Steve Neuenschwander. However, when Dr. Neuenschwander retired in 2017, he sold the practice to Dr. Amanda Hild. Since Dr. Hild has worked at Brentwood Animal Hospital since 2013, she intimately understands the clinic’s core values. Consequently, she hopes to continue the practice’s long-standing traditions of quality veterinary medicine for dogs and cats at affordable prices with personal service!
Meet Dr. Amanda Hild – Lead Vet at Brentwood Animal Hospital
Dr. Amanda Hild is originally from the Tidewater area of Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in biology, and then in 2006 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hild lives in Oxford, NC with her husband, daughter, and three cats. She enjoys living in a small town, reading novels, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Meet the Front Desk Staff at Brentwood Animal Hospital
Melinda – Office Manager
Melinda is our office manager. She is the proud mom of three adult kids, four birds, a giant schnauzer (Willow), a mini schnauzer (Thorne), and two chihuahuas (Jellybean and Rye). In addition to all the hard work she does around the office, Melinda is also our resident small dog whisperer.
Karen – Receptionist
Karen is our receptionist. She lived in the Bay Area in California until 1995, when she moved to Raleigh. Karen has been bringing all her pets to Brentwood Animal Hospital since 1996, and currently shares a home with her three cats: Scooby, Ollie, and Izzy, and assorted tropical fish.
About Our Veterinary Assistants at Brentwood Animal Hospital
Meghan – Lead Vet Assistant and Groomer
Meghan is our lead assistant and also our groomer. She grew up in Raleigh and came back after finishing her degree in Environmental Science at UNCW. Meghan has been working with animals since 2017! She has 3 small dogs named Poptart, Kipper, and Cleopatra. She also two cats, Shark and Squid.
Kaitlin – Vet Assistant
Kaitlyn is one of our vet assistants. She grew up in Fort Mill, SC, then spent some time in the Blue Ridge mountains. Today, she has a horse named Twinkie, Cinnamon the cat, and Nova the hound mix.
Jade – Kennel Assistant
Jade is one of our kennel assistants. She’s from Wilmington and currently goes to NC State. She is studying animal science, with the ultimate hope to go to vet school. Additionally, Jade has a cat named Pete.
Ava – Kennel Assistant
Ava is one of our kennel assistants. She grew up in Chapel Hill, NC, and now goes to NC State majoring in animal science with hopes of going to vet school. Furthermore, she’s the proud mother of a pit bull mix named Kahlea.
Gingi – The Boss
Gingi was raised in Raleigh and came to Brentwood in June of 2021. Indeed, he is happy to tell us he is a great addition to the office. We try to live up to his expectations. Specifically, he enjoys spring toys, stuffed mice, balled up paper and most of all, Q-tips. Most afternoons you will find him enjoying a refreshing dip in his fountain and helping the receptionists greet clients, file papers, fax or type correspondence.
