Meet Dr. N

Dr. Steve Neuenschwander grew up in the mountains of North Carolina. After serving in the Air Force for four years he returned home to North Carolina to begin college. He graduated with honors from North Carolina State University in 1978 and Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. At that time the veterinary school at North Carolina State University had not yet opened. He was in a dairy practice in Illinois and New York before coming back to North Carolina to begin small animal practice in 1985. He purchased Brentwood Animal Hospital in 1991 and moved to the current location in 1998.

He and his wife Mindy have three children. Their oldest Anne, teaches English in Germany. Thomas is in Western Carolina university and Peter at Appalachian State. They both are Eagle Scouts and active in sports. Mindy renews her marriage commitment on a yearly basis to keep him in line.

He is an avid cyclist and woodworker and continues to be challenged on a daily basis by two teenage sons.
